The A.I. Revolution is here. But actually, it’s less of a revolution and more of an evolution. A.I. is what happens any time we use algorithms for things we typically do as humans. You’ve probably heard about ChatGPT (an example of the newer generative type of A.I.) If you’re want to get a general idea of what A.I. is and take a deeper dive into how we respond to it, here are some keynotes, sessions, and workshops I offer. To be clear, I’m not an A.I. expert. My focus is on how we can design authentic learning experiences in a changing world (including A.I.).
A.I. For Educators Workshops and Keynotes
Lately, I have been leading sessions, keynotes, and workshops focused on authentic learning in an age of A.I. I use humor and storytelling along with practical strategies to inspire and equip educators at the K-12 and Higher Education levels. If you reach out, we can create something customized for your school, district, or institution.

How Will We Respond to the A.I. Revolution?
The A.I. Revolution is here. For some, it’s exciting. For others, it feels terrifying. Still others feel baffled and confused by it. Many of us feel a mix of all three emotions. But one thing is clear. It’s here and it’s not going away. In this keynote, we explore how we might adapt and change as we navigate the new terrain of an AI world. We explore the human skills students will need in a world of smart machines. Ultimately, we’ll be reminded of the hope and humanity we continue to have in a time of epic change.
Navigating the Maze
For years, we were taught a formula. Go to school, get good grades, graduate from a university, and climate a corporate ladder. But the ladder is gone and our students will instead navigate a complex maze. We at the beginning of the AI revolution and we can’t predict what this maze will look like. In this keynote, we explore what vital skills students will need to become self-directed learners who can thrive in the maze. We’ll examine how creativity and curiosity can help develop the adaptability students will need as they navigate a complex and unpredictable world fueled by generative A.I.
This is the Future of Education
For all the talk of gadgets and apps, the future of education won’t center around a new content delivery system. The future is in your classroom. It’s with your students. Your school is packed with creative potential. In this keynote, we tackle what the future of education will look like as we shift toward creativity and innovation in a world of smart machines.
Vintage Innovation
The best way to prepare students for the future is to empower them in the present. In this keynote or workshop, we explore what it means to use vintage ideas, tools, and strategies in new and relevant ways. Here, we focus on innovation as a focus on “what is best” rather than “what is next.” Our focus is on how we move forward in a world of smart machines.

A.I. For Personalized Learning
While many companies promise a personalized learning experience focused on adaptive learning (students sitting at a computer getting leveled worksheets), authentic personalized learning is centered on the person. In this workshop, we explore how we can design personalized learning with scaffolds, supports, and differentiation using A.I. We’ll explore how we can design something that is human-centered but A.I.-informed.
Integrating A.I. Into PBL
PBL can seem daunting when you have time constraints, standards, and a curriculum map. What does it look like? How do you even get started? In this workshop, we begin with the “why” and move into the “how.” As a group, we will do a mini-project and plan out an initial PBL unit. Unlike traditional PBL training, we will explore how we might use generative A.I. (including tools like ChatGPT) into the entire project process.

Common Questions
The following are some of the common questions people ask about the PBL Workshops:
What can we expect from a full-day workshop?
You can expect a hands-on, fun, thought-provoking experience. I will focus briefly on how A.I. works and then shift into a conversation about how we respond to it. We’ll talk about the human skills students need in an era of smart machines. You’ll leave with a roadmap going forward and strategies that you can actually use.
What is your expertise in A.I.?
My expertise is on student-centered learning. I focus on what it means for students to be self-directed in an era of change. For years, I’ve been interviewing A.I. experts to try to get a sense of how we might respond to this moment. That said, I ultimately believe in the collective wisdom of the people in the room. As a workshop facilitator, I want to help everyone share their expertise so we can grow.
What do you offer beyond the workshop?
Often, a school or district will have me do one-on-one coaching or work with teams in their planning after an initial workshop. Lately, I’ve been leading discussions with leadership teams on this topic.
